Goa Sun Sand Sea

Goa, the beach capital of India, is all about sun, sand and sea. The coastline of Goa stretches 105 kms long and many mistakenly believe that the coast is an endless stretch of elongated beach. In fact the beaches cover just 83 kms of the coastline. But the beauty of the beaches have attracted tourists from both near and far. In fact, everyone always return to the sea in Goa. Visitors just can’t get enough of the idyllic life by the sea with the sun and the surf for company. This is why Goa has become synonymous with its beaches

Goa beaches are picture perfect with swaying palms, soft powdery sands and gleaming sea. Here in these exotic and laidback beaches one can practically laze the whole day. Or if you are an adventure enthusiasts, the beaches offer plenty of fun activities that will get your adrenaline pumping from water skiing to paragliding. And if not, the dolphin cruises will tempt you.

Goa beaches are unparallel to the other beaches of India not only for their beauty but also for the services that are accessible here. Also if you are one of those travelers whose main focus during traveling is not what to see next but what to eat, then Goa will not disappoint you. Goa is famous for serving the freshest and most delicious seafood. Mandatory rule: Always accompany your food with the local drink feni. The experience of gorging down the food mixed with the bliss of relaxing on the golden sands under the warmth of sun with the turquoise water in the backdrop is addictive.

Shopping is another interesting alternative that will keep you busy in Goa. Most of the beachside shacks sell trinkets and handicrafts one can take home for souvenirs. Night is as lively as the day with wild trance parties and bonfire animating the beaches.

Among the many beaches of Goa, Dona Paula, Miramar, Arambol, Vagator, Anjuna, Baga, Calangute, Candolim and Siquerim are the most popular and most crowded. Till the 60s most of the action was centered at Calangute. Today, Baga Beach has overtaken Calangute and is the most happening beach now. It is infamously known as the nude beach. Anjuna comes a close second in terms of popularity. Along with the scenic beauty of the place, most people await the busy chaotic flea market held every Wednesday. The market is a shopaholic's delight where all types of items from the smallest trinkets, jewelry, potteries to traditional attires and second hand electronic items like digital cameras, cellphones, bikes are on sale. Anjuna also attracts hordes of hippies throughout the year.

The beaches of South Goa are more secluded and tranquil compared to its noisy cousins in the north. Benaulim, Colva and Bagmalo are the most famous and Palolem is frequented for its beachside shack accommodations.
