Issorcim Beach is refreshingly less crowded and you will find none of the carnival atmosphere and loud merry-making seen in most of the Goan beaches. It is undeniably one of the most understated beaches of Goa. In Issorcim, you can enjoy the beautiful bounty of nature amidst the soaring coconut palms and casuarinas, lying under the sun as you slowly drift to sweet dreams. The best part is that you will get none of the holidaying crowds and resolute hawkers to hassle you. The beach is rugged and outdoorsy surrounded by hills with a stretch of clean white sand to complement the sapphire waters. The atmosphere is soothingly peaceful and laid-back, excellent for unwinding, and the water calm for swimming.
The beach is even more beautiful during high tide as the sea waters rise to meet the freshwater from the nearby stream. So never pass up an opportunity to experience this paradise. Issorcim too has a typical Goan vista having a grand old church and a spread of lush green fields and a small spring in the area.
The beach lies in the administrative region of MormuGoa taluka, close to the famous port city Vasco da Gama which is just 1.5 kms away and the more famous south Goan beach the Bogmalo. If you are in for some activity, trek down the road from Bogmalo to Issorcim to soak in the fantastic views of the MormuGoa coast.
Regrettably the beaches of Vasco, Cumberthi and Baina, have become extremely polluted, so Issorcim provides a good alternative. It is also a good place for angling. However, the most exciting part of Issorcim is that it is the only place in Goa apart from Grande Island where you will find corals. The corals are especially visible when the water is clear and they are a beauty to behold.
The best time to visit, like the rest of Goa, is between November and March.
To get to Issorcim, you can hire a taxi or a bike from Vasco. However, the most convenient means of transport to get around locally and the rest of the state are the rented bikes. The Dabolim Airport is conveniently close from Bogmalo. It is just 4 kms away. Taxis are also available from here.
Most travelers prefer to stay at Vasco or the adjoining Bogmalo Beach as they offer more range of accommodation from luxury hotels to modest-range budget hotels. But you will also find few hotels in Issorcim.
