Bihar is located in the eastern part of the Republic of India. It is one of the states which are culturally very rich. This is the state where Gautam Buddha attained enlightenment. The circuit of Buddhism was established here in Bihar. Even the name of the state has been adopted from Vihara which means Buddhist monastery.There are numerous cities and places that attract millions of tourists and religious followers from the world across. Patna, the capital city earlier called Pataliputra is one of the oldest capital cities of the world. Then there are Gaya and Bodhgaya which attract several Buddhist followers to the place where Buddha got enlightenment. Vaishali and Baidyanath Dham are other places which have religious values attached to them. Nalanda is another place which attracts tourists from all over the world as it is the world’s most ancient university and is said to be the ancient seat of learning.
