By the middle of 11th - 12th century AD, Indian history changed its course where the Islamic hordes made their first appearance and had marked the foundation of an Abrahamic Middle Eastern religion in Southern India's pre-existent dharmic Hindu culture, often in puritanical form was regarded by many historians as the "early medieval period of India". It was the time when the Chola dynasty was already deep into declination. The south was merely far too divided and no one kingdom stood out as a clear leader. The picture was again quickly transferring to the north where much liveliness had taken place by this time. During its evolutionary stage and shifting of powers India saw in its medieval phase the invasions of Mahmud Ghazni in 1000AD, rise of Rajput hero – Prithviraj, the conquest of Delhi by Muhammad Ghuri - a succession of proper dynastic rule, establishment of the Islamic rule over the region, the rise and fall of regime of Delhi Sultans, arrival of Mughals - Zahir-ud-din Muhammad Babur (1526 - 1530AD) who was the founder of Mughal Dynasty, Humayun 1530 – 1556 AD), Jalal-ud-din Muhammad Akbar (1556- 1605 AD), Jahangir (1605 – 1627 AD), Shah Jahan (1628–1658), Aurangzeb (1659–1707) and finally changing course of Indian history by coming of Europeans in India. |
