Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka, is the fifth largest city and one of the most hot and happening cities in India. Also known as, The Garden city; it has numerous beautiful parks and avenues. After the Information Technology boom in 2000 this city reaped maximum benefit and emerged as the 'IT Capital of India' better known as 'Silicon Valley of India' .This city is home many eminent personalities like Dr C V Raman, Girish Karnad, Narayan Murthy, Prakash Padukone, G R Vishwanath etc.
Officially known as Bengaluru, it enjoys a mild climate throughout the year. The best time to visit this place is October- March. The official language is Kannada but most people can speak English or Hindi fluently. This city is well connected by airplane, rail or bus. Bangalore International Airport enjoys a healthy traffic.
The two main railway stations are 'Yeswantpur Junction
and The Bangalore City railway station' which is well
connected to all parts of country. If you have problems
in arranging a plane or railway ticket or you prefer
a little more adventure, you can go by bus. There are
some good quality buses available. While roaming in
town be careful to negotiate with auto drivers as they
charge very abruptly.
The half day city tour ride on bus by KSTDC is cheap
and covers attractions of the city with English speaking
guides. The Vidhana Soubha, Bangalore Palace, Tipu
Sultan's Palaces are some of the landmark locations
of the city. Bangalore can also be called the spiritual
city as many beautiful and famous temples like The
Bull Temple, The Maha Bodhi Society Temple, ISKCON
Temple etc. Here are some famous parks like Cubbon
Park, The Lal Bagh, Bannerghatta National Park and
many more. Here is Art of Living Ashram and many scenic
spots on the outskirts of the city.Night life is also
very rocking due to presence of many pubs and nightclubs.
Bangalore is also an upcoming Spa city because of
its climate and urban culture.
