Known for intimate Statues, Khajuraho is located in Madhya Pradesh. It is a sign of our rich culture and glorious past. These statues have immortalized the tale of Hindu art
and culture. The temples of Khajuraho have been declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO. At first 80 temples were built
but 75 were destroyed by the foreign invaders. Only 25 are remaining now.
The sculptures and carvings on the wall symbolize the revelation of human love, lust and other emotions. These magnificent temples
were built around 950-1150 AD. Artists have tried to raise the bar by showing sensuality as an integral part of humanrelationship not as a degraded relationship.
The temples of khajuraho are divided into 3 parts- Eastern Group of Temples, Western Group of Temples, Southern Group of Temples. Being the biggest of the three Western Group of Temples are dedicated to Lord
Shiva and Vishnu. Withinn Eastern group there are two groups. One group is for Jain Gods Nad The other one is for Hindu God and Goddesses.Southern groups are the oldest one and are dedicated to Kord Shiva and Vishnu. Overall famous temples of khajuraho are Kandariya Mahado (Lord Shiva), Vishwanatha Temple(Lord Brahma), Chaunsath Yogini(Goddess Kali), Lakshmana Temple(Lord Shiva), Matangeshwara Temple,Adinatha Temple, Duladeo Temple, Parsvanatha Temple,Ghantai Temple and Chaturbhuja Temple.
