Navegaon national park is situated in the Vidharva region of Maharastra state of India, covers an area of 133.8 sq km. It is one of the most notable forest cover protected are inn the state, includes, a deer park, an aviary, 3 landscaped gardens and Dr. Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary.
Amidst of the park 11 sq km lake enhances the beauty of the park, its crystalline water is the backbone for the survival of jewel of the park. Further a watch tower is situated inside the park from where you can get awesome look of the entire region. The park is one of the famous park in the state, provides shelter to the more than 60% species found in the region. It is an ideal destination for wildlife travelers from all over the world and a home to the Tigers, Panthers, Bisons, Sambars, Leopards, Nilgais, Chitals, Wild boars, Wild Dogs, Gaurs, Sambars, and Langoors. More than 60% of the avifauna has found in the jungles of Navegaon National Park which includes Scarlet Minivets, Paradise Fly Catchers, Kingfishers, etc, apart from a wide variety of migratory birds.
The best time to explore the flora and fauna of the park is between April and May. Incase if you are a bird watcher, October and November is the perfect time to watch many migratory birds in their natural habitat. Further the park also provides a variety of tourist attractions such Elephant safari and jeep safari.
